HELP?? I don't have any clue. Leaf happened almost overnight, the white spots on stems and back of my good leaf looks odd. She's a regal shield alocasia

I only have an alocasia bambino, but when mine was developing leaves when it was younger it would develop one and then and older one would start to turn purple, then orange, then yellow, then die. It seemed for a while like each new leaf was killing an old one. I heard that alocasias sometimes do this (borrowing energy from an old leaf and putting it into new growth. For mine, what helped is i fertilized more often and now its bonkers. It is up to 15 leaves with no old leaf deaths! I’m not sure that is what you are experiencing, but i can only share what i know. 🤷🏻‍♀️ For the white spots on the stems, could it be residue from misting or watering? Do you use demineralized water? Other waters can be hard on the plant and cause issues with leaves, (for plants with finicky leaves/needs like rattle snake plants, prayer plants, etc) or also leave water stains as the water drops dry and leave residue behind. I hope you find better help than mine, but I hope this helped a bit. Here is my alocasia now.

This is really helpful! I have had a leaf die off then a new one come in its place the same way but I had just gotten her at that point.

Yay! Yes that happened to me for the first 3-4 new ones that grew. I let them wither then cut them off when they seemed « done »
