Just got this peacock prayer plant and fount these sores. Anyone know what could cause this?

I had a similar issue with a prayer plant. It turned out to be that I had a water softener and it did not like that at all. I switched to my reverse osmosis tap and all happy again. You could also try leaving the tap water to sit out over night before using it? Good luck!

It looks like mealy bugs to me. I get what the other comment was saying about the hard water - that does cause a white film on the leaves but I’ve had both issues and this looks more like mealy bugs. Wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol and separate it from other plants
