I need help with her! Some advice on what you might think is wrong/ how
To help with my (I believe to be, alocasia black velvet- im new to this plant. Its first one Ive owned and not confident of the name!) ive had it for maybe 3-4 weeks at this point… repotted already now and Fresh soil and before repotting i lost a leaf the same way as this is currently Yellowing and and after repotting is doing this again.. i am in a colder state so maybe the soil being wet this long is causing this problem? I haven’t watered it in about 2 weeks almost and soil is still wet!

A few things!
1\) Not that it really matters, but this isn't a black velvet variation. I have one, and the veins are bright white and it's velvety :) From what I can tell, this looks like a New Guinea Shield.
2\) The plant could be in shock just a little from the repotting, but I don't think that's too likely. I've responded to another comment like this before, but Alocasia are so finicky. I've lost many leaves on the way to mine finally stabilizing and now it's growing leafs twice the size of my hand! Also, this looks like the oldest and smallest leaf, which usually indicates that the others are using it for nutrients. Not too alarming.
3\) I would do some research on if you have the correct potting soil (usually a good mix would be potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark).
4\) I've never really had to deal with humidity problems with mine and it lived in Ohio for about 8 months. I would just try to figure out your watering situation. I've recently started bottom watering more as some plants are taking up water fast enough before it drains. It could be that? Or if you think the soil is too wet for too long, bottom watering could also be your solution.

Overall, just give it time. While this plant is definitely older, it's still adjusting to its environment and now, a new pot!

i believe this is an alocasia melo. all alocasia are known to drop lower leaves occasionally, it usually happens when the plant is working on a new leaf and already has the maximum amount of leaves its root system can support. more light may help with that and also to dry out the soil faster, reducing the likelihood of overwatering and root rot
