# Just a little bit of a warning. I was watching one of my favorite…

Just a little bit of a warning. I was watching one of my favorite plant guys on YouTube. Can’t remember which one. But they said they were using a mix of compost, cocoa coir and perlite as their new potting medium. I tried it. None of the plants I used it on liked it. Lost a few. I’ve gone back to my basic potting soil with additional perlite, amount depending on the plant. Sigh. Probably should stop experimenting. Lol.

yikes! yeah I use regular potting mix but add perlite and orchid bark and all seem to be pretty here (oh I do use cacti/succulent potting soil for those plants but also mix in perlite and orchid bark too)

Coco and compost together holds a lot of moisture. Without enough perlite, most things will rot. Coco is actually my preferred soil because of how wet it gets hehe
