I also see that the plant is sensitive to lime so are you giving it rain water or water from a tap?

I'm afraid that looks like rot, but it's fine all you need to do is cut it just above the rot and leave it on a windowsill for the cut to callous over for a day or 2 till it looks dry at the cut end then put it in a glass or vase with water. You can try soil but I find water is safer. Also you said you've been watering it every 11 days is that when Planta tells you to water? It isn't always accurate so Always make sure to put a wooden chopstick or your finger into the soil to see if it's wet, with the chopstick the soil will stick to it if the soil is still wet.

thankyou ! do you mean completely cut the top off the plant and then after put the roots in the water? \& yes just what planta has been saying, but i will do that from now on thankyou :)

Cut about half an inch above the rot and then let it callous over, and put the green top part in water and discard the rotted bit and probably the soil to.

so i get rid of the roots etc ? :)

Yes since the but that's alive is the top green part, the roots are probably rotted to.

Pull it from the soil, rinse it well. Pull away the mush (rotting root) then spray with peroxide. I would propagate in water for awhile til the roots get strong again.

Looks like stem rot but check the roots too. The soil isn’t great. Is the soil dry when you water? What size is the pot. Is it to big for the plant? If the soil isn’t dry or the pot is too big you can still be overwatering even though your only watering every 11 days. Don’t worry though. They are very resilient. If it is rot you can chop it and reroot in water. I would amend the soil next time also. It really dense and compacted.

so would i get rid of the roots and just put the top part like the leaves in water ? or cut off the rot and put the roots in water x

First cut it just above where the black whole is. Leave the roots in the pot put the big plant in a jar of water. It you feel along the stem that was left in the dirt and there is more stem that not rotted you can cut off the rot and leave the roots in the pot. It may regrow from that bit of stem but even if it doesn’t you will be rerooting the actual plant so your good. I’m a few weeks the plant will grow more roots any the you can repot it in you soil mix. Just be very careful because you don’t have much stem. Cut as close to the soil as possible while still leaving the rotten part. Try to cut between those white lines along the stem leaving as many as you can that are not rotted.
