# Help there are these bugs in my plant and I dont know how to get rid…

Help there are these bugs in my plant and I dont know how to get rid of them or what they are, I watered the plant and a ton of the came out the bottom - they are killing the plant!! They loom like millipedes…

Hey! Pests are no fun! I had soil mites on one plant, and it ended up spreading to three of my other plants! One of the most important things to do is make sure you aren’t over watering. Pests thrive in wet soil. Try allowing the soil to completely dry out and go longer than normal without watering. You can also purchase insecticide from nurseries or Lowe’s at a reasonable price. I decided to have a complete restart. I unpotted each plant individually and threw out all of the dirt. I got all the dirt out from the root ball, and soaked the entire plant in water with a little bit of hydrogen peroxide, making sure the roots and leaves were all completely submerged. While my plant soaked, I washed all the dirt out of the pot and washed it with hot water and dish soap. I then rinsed my plant really well and potted it in new soil. Two of my plants handled it really well! My biggest plant freaked out a little bit, but I gave it a little extra liquid fertilizer when I watered it and it has since perked back up. Good luck!

Most likely an insect larvae eating the roots, take the plant out and remove all the soil, dunk the roots in water and repot into fresh soil :) (remember to clean the pot too!!)

I had those on a rubber plant once. I severely under watered it and I think that killed them…but also nearly killed my plant…🤷🏻‍♀️ I would definitely do what the others are suggesting. Best wishes!

Use insecticides or diatomaceous earth.

I have these too on my plant! I think they’re plant gnat larvae.
