Hi plant friends,

Does anyone know what this is on my Silver Bay? I found it while cleaning its leaves. It’s textured and definitely isn’t part of the leaf pattern, but it doesn’t rub off easily. It’s only on this one leaf, which is the oldest one of this shoot. There’s no visible damage near this stuff or on the rest of the leaf. Any thoughts?

I wonder if it isn’t scarring from the plant fighting some kind of disease or fungus or virus? Some of my plants get little nodules or thickened areas that seem like scars esp on older leaves
