Usually low humidity will cause leaves to curl on bird of paradise

So should I get a humidifier

### Audrey commented on 2023-10-23

You could do that. I run them in my house during heating season as the air is dry indoors

Not specifically for the curling… but how long has it been in that pot? They tend to get root bound. May not have enough room in the pot and not getting enough water.
Some of my leaves were curing when it wasn’t getting enough water. Want to make sure water drains out the bottom.

I agree with you on how fast they get root bound. BOP’s have a very large and thick root system. Drainage for aerated soil is important to keep roots viable.

So is it too late. I repotted it and in three days it’s now turning yellow

Goodness. Hard to tell based on pictures, and I apologize if I’m saying anything you already know….
New pot should be 1–2” wider in diameter than the previous pot. Unless it was REALLY root-bound, in which case you could prob get away with 3” bigger for a plant that size but would really have to be aware of the moisture levels in the soil to make sure it doesn’t get root rot. Make sure it still has drainage holes so the roots don’t sit in water. I’d recommend cutting off leaves that are yellow and not watering it for a bit.
I’d be concerned about root rot. But would love others opinions as well.
Search how best to prune BoP on YouTube if you haven’t done it before. Hopefully it can survive!
