# Hi Can anyone help me I was bought a Monstera Thai constellation…

_Posted by Em on 2023-10-22_

Hi

Can anyone help me
I was bought a Monstera Thai constellation plant which was grown from a cutting and only has 2 leaves.
The newer leaf is fine but the bigger one has a brown patch on the top with discolouration on the bottom of the leaf.
There is also some discolouration on the stem.
I can’t see any pests on it at all.
I’ve only had it a couple of days and not sure what to do to help it.

Any advice or ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you

Root rot? Overwatering maybe?
Recently got burnt by the sun?
It also could be dying because it’s old. It also could need fertilizer.
From my Thai experience, when I repotted it into bigger one a few weeks after I got it. It lost 2 leaves and looked like it “Fainted” but now it’s steadily going.

I’ve experienced something similar. I believe what happened to mine was a result of not enough care when adding fertilizer, in addition to repotting. I think they prefer a gentle approach to repotting with soil. Mine resolved itself in a week or so by just moving it further away from the window to recover. You will see the ‘burnt’ appearance diminish as it grows. Hope it helps. Side note, I misted mine a little more regularly during the recovery period.
