# The Hand (Opuntia Crest “Rollercoaster”) caught cooties from the dumb…

The Hand (Opuntia Crest “Rollercoaster”) caught cooties from the dumb Golden Torch I took a chance on with a newish local shop. Honestly, the “pests, diseases and problems” part of this is another department, meaning I’m upstream in the development cycle with my soils and endless structural tweaks to habitats. This is still a pretty new operation.

(I didn’t catch this happening because the hair and texture of the plant camouflaged it.)

I started the cleanup process before, unfortunately, seeing the future of quarantine and how losing anything else was going to make yesterday’s bad day into a physical and mental disaster.

Would you hardcore folks have tried to save it? Note that it’s only three inches tall.

I really liked The Hand, but onward. Farewell little alien high five.

Looks like it would have been more of a headache than it’s worth. Wave goodbye 👋

Thank you. That’s the conclusion I came to after sitting it on the counter and casually debating throughout the day. I was more concerned with losing the rest of the herd. We’ll find each other again, The Hand.
