# I repotted some plants a few weeks ago, Planta says I watered them 20…

I repotted some plants a few weeks ago, Planta says I watered them 20 days ago. But they’re still moist?? And each of them are a little droopy. Also, since then I’ve gotten a humidifier and now some of my other plants grew mold on the soil! Can someone please help, I have no clue what’s going on 😩 (I already sprinkled cinnamon on the moldy soil)

\*Pic of my new alocasia leaf so this doesn’t get lost\*

It won’t hurt it to repot if the roots are slowly rotting. Just take a look. No need to replace all the soil if the roots look fine.

It's possible the soil doesn't have enough drainage material, or they're in a spot that's not getting enough light to help evaporate off the excess. Or if you sized up the pots, it's possible the new pots are too big also

I did change the size of their pots but their roots were coming out the bottom before. I went from a 6” to an 8” so I thought that’d be fine. But I’ll have to pick up some drainage material then, thank you!

that sounds fine for the pot size, but yeah I'd try adding more perlite!

If you can, get a chunky mix specifically for alocasias and you will see your plant explode in new growth. ;)

I agree the chunky alocasia mix works great. All my alocasias came in that mix and are flourishing.

The plants near my diffusers don’t need to watered nearly as much as Planta already says. Planta is off VERY often! The mold on the soil isn’t the end of the world. Just mush it around with your finger and it’s fine. I use a chopstick to check the moisture of my soil before I water.
