# I have a beautiful Schefflera which is doing well but the water…

I have a beautiful Schefflera which is doing well but the water doesn’t come through the drain hole. I don’t want to repot it again because it’s otherwise healthy. Why doesn’t the water drain?

You will have to remove the pot to check for clogs or watch the plant go mushy from root rot due to no drainage. Another possibility is the soil is too dense. Even so, some excess water should flow through if the soil takes a long time to drain. Are you sure there are drain holes in the pot?
