Hi, I have a serious gnat fly problem. Got yellow sticky traps in every plant (around 24) and cider vinegar traps everywhere.
They help. But they seem to be everywhere. Last resort is the Hydrogen Peroxide soak. Any advice on if this will at least get them under control?
Driving me mad!

Hydrogen peroxide works, you also need to change out your soil. That’s the only thing that made mine go away. They’re laying eggs in the soil, so if you don’t get rid of the eggs, they’ll keep coming back. Also make sure to to empty any drainage saucers/make sure you’re not overwatering.

I sprinkle cinnamon on my soil too. You could try that as well

I have been lucky enough to not have a gnat problem but I have seen ppl talk about this being awesome at getting rid of them

Oh wow! Do you know if they use it directly on their plants? Or do they put it in standing water like the bag says?

Make a “tea”

Soak it in the water you water your plants with

I second these. The bag tells you directions for how to use on potted plants. I used for a few months, coupled with vinegar traps and dusting the tops of my soil with cinnamon and finally got rid of the infestation!

Isopropyl alcohol has been significantly helping with both thrips and gnats for me!

Also make sure the soil is fast draining. The longer the soil stays wet the more likely the adult gnat’s have a place to lay their eggs. The yellow sticky traps are good for the adult gnats but you also have to kill the eggs in the soil. So treat for both
