Does anyone know how to successfully and PERMANENTLY get rid of mealy bugs. I’ll hose the plant down but they still come back. I’ve used neem oil and they still come back. I’ve sat there and wiped off every mealy bug I saw and they still come back. Please help🥲

Good bugs that eat the bad bugs help. I’ve used Nature’s good guys but there may be others.

It’s takes repeated applications to get rid of the pests. It took me several weeks plus isolation to clear 5 plants of both spider mites and mealy bugs. I used a soapy dishwater mix in a spray bottle. You have to spray every single part of the plant plus the soil.

Rubbing alcohol. Works every time. Take a q tip and dip it in the alcohol, remove the mealy bugs one at a time. After, I spray some watered down rubbing alcohol on it (make sure to get any crevices) works every time. Some plants do not do well with this method so test on one leaf first to see how it goes.

Alocasias don’t like it even if watered down. Learned the hard way sadly

Fortunately my alocasias did just fine. Sorry to hear yours didn’t get through it.
