# Problems with Fig plant Hi, I’ve had this fig plant for a few morning…

Problems with Fig plant

Hi, I’ve had this fig plant for a few morning months and noticed is not doing very well in the last month or 2. There are white spots on the leafs, breakage and it just doesn’t look shiny anymore. I moved it to a place with more light and today I added water with miracle grow plant food. Does anybody know if I need to be doing something differently? Thanks you!

Have the leaves been cleaned recently?  
Also, did these problems start happening before or after you added the fertilizer?

Hi, thank you for the response. No, I have not cleaned the leaves so I can definitely do that. These problems started before the fertilizer for sure. Thank you again.

Figs are very temperamental in my experience. If I move mine or change the watering she throws a fit. After giving it some time normally it bounces back. I also normally do 1/4 or 1/2 the fertilizer strength when giving fertilizer too.  
The leaves being dull could be dust. I wipe mine off with water and a microfiber cloth to keep them clean. I don’t recommend oils or anything because it irritate it more. Good luck!
