# My alocasias have spider mites. I want to v0mit. I know how to treat…

My alocasias have spider mites. I want to v0mit.
I know how to treat and they’re soaking in the tub right now all sprayed, but you guys, I want to v0mit.
They were in close proximity to at least 12 other plants.

i know that feeling all too well. i’ve lost many rare plants to spider mites. keep an eye out on the ones the alocasia were close to, just so you can catch them as soon as you see them. keep high hopes and done give up on them!

Sorry to hear that!!! Ugh
My satin pothos was directly next to it and she is loooooong and big. It’s gonna be a nightmare. I honestly want to throw them all away. 🥲

i’ve thought about throwing away many of mine, and some i have, but just as long as you spot them quick enough, they have a high chance of survival, just with a bit of work. if the vines of the satin were was was close to the alocasia, you can always trim them and throw them away if you’re worried, or treat the vines for spider mites and propagate them

Pests are horrifying lol. I’m dreading my first case of mealy bugs 😫😬

Me too!!!!! I hope it never comes a reality. I’ll throw all my plants out.

This is me when I had a mealy infestation… good for you for taking care of it early. I was so scared and grossed out by them that I left them until my plant was dying. I have found insecticidal soap to be my go-to… you can spray the leaves and the soil and after a few treatments it should be safe. Good luck🤟🏻

Sounds like something I would do…
I wouldn’t be so freaked out if they weren’t close to so many other plants- one of which is HUGE AND LONG. I don’t even know where to start. So I’m just stuck treating 12 plants??
I use captain jacks and it did me well when I had aphids… TWICE!

I’m so scared of mealys. I’m praying they don’t come here. How do you even get mealys??
