# Hello everyone, I’m new to the plant world and received this…

Hello everyone, I’m new to the plant world and received this beautiful split leaf philodendron the other day. With the brown leaves am I able to just remove them or is there a trick to it? I tried to do some research but I haven’t found the browning in the location that mine is instead of on the leaves itself. I also am curious if I should report it, it looks like there’s a plastic pot inside the outter one.

Your plant is beautiful!! I would just remove them by hand. leaving stuff to decay can bring pests. :( If leaves keep dying I would definitely look into repotting it.

It looks like it’s just from old growth. Plants looks happy, so I agree with above. You just reach in there and pull them out by hand and he’ll be as good as new!
