# hey! in desperate need of advice, i got my one and only bucket list…

hey! in desperate need of advice, i got my one and only bucket list plant about 3 weeks ago now, it’s an albo monstera and has double fenestrations so is fairly mature.

it had a couple of 3 inch aerial roots, one which hit the inside of the decorative pot so the end got blunt, and in the past week the tips of white leaves have started to brown, i know white sections don’t last forever but for reasonably new leaves it seems to be happening quite quickly, and no new leaves have been pushed out since i noticed the browning so it’s not just old leaves.

i was worried it was due to not having quite enough light so moved it to a sunnier spot which has slowed the browning i think.

i just checked on it to see if it’s improved (not getting worse) and tested the aerial roots to see if they were still firm, one just turned to mush in my hand, is this a warning sign for root rot in soil?! any advice would be appreciated, want to save as much of this beauty as possible 🤞

these plants are prone to rot, and the only way to know for sure is to take it out of the pot and check the roots. also i’ve heard a silica supplement will help with the white parts staying alive
