# Is this soil okay? It’s what came with the plant. My ZZ hasn’t grown…

Is this soil okay? It’s what came with the plant. My ZZ hasn’t grown at all and I’ve had her probably 2 or 3 months. Should I change the soil to my preferred mixture? I’m torn.

It might need to be repotted into a new pot. I’m not completely sure but it might not have anymore room to grow?

For the most part it still looks healthy :-)

They do prefer being a bit snug in their pots. It might just be focussing it’s energy on new root growth to establish itself a bit more 🙌🏼 space wise looks plenty, I personally wouldn’t repot her

I think your zz would prefer something with more drainage/breathability. It still might not grow very often. I’m my experience, my zz only sends up new growth in the spring. It seems to charge energy in the rhizomes the rest of the time

I was told that whenever you buy a plant or get one from somewhere you should look to repot, just so you can know where it’s at health wise.
