So two days ago this plant was absolutely beautiful and healthy. Yesterday I noticed that it’s leaves were all pointing down and droopy. Looked like overwatering to me so I took it out of the pot to check the roots. Roots were fine but as I was checking, almost all of the leaves, about eight or nine, fell off. I repotted it and stuck a Tampax in the soil. Have no clue what happened. Didn’t water it any differently and didn’t move it. Any thoughts?

😫 That’s so sad. No idea. But I love the pot… did you water it two days ago when it looked good it was it just spontaneous?

I had the exact same thing happen with one of my plants last week. Strangely, it’s in a pot with another one that’s doing just fine. It turned out to be the fact that the regular watering schedule wasn’t enough in the extreme heat we’d been having, so the only way to take care of it is to give it little bits of water at a time until it picks back up. A few of the leaves on mine recovered, but the rest are too damaged, I think, so they’ll drop off. But I’m going to repot him into coco coir with sphagnum moss this weekend so it doesn’t happen again. The temperature swings really messed with some of my plants this summer. 😢

I’ve had a croton do that to me too. No idea what caused it. It went from perfectly healthy to every leaf drooping and basically dead overnight for no reason that I could figure out. Hope yours recovers

Thanks. I don’t usually have luck with them either but that one was doing amazing since April when I bought it.

A Tampax??!!! 😮I don’t use those but I’m going to get some! Great idea to absorb water quickly, all I could think of was the sun or taking it out of the pot and using newspapers!!
