# Hey everyone, I recently bought this bird of paradise and it appeared…

Hey everyone, I recently bought this bird of paradise and it appeared to be in fairly rough shape. I just watered it yesterday based on Planta’s suggestion.

What more can I do to help it? It lives inside by a window, but I leave it outside for a few hours after I water it for direct sunlight.

Check to see for any bugs. Also if that lead is decaying, you can take it off or wait until it falls if naturally. From the full image of your bird of paradise, I think the plant looks fine :)

Better to take off the damaged leaves. They are just taking energy that could go to the new growth.

Fertilize as recommended (google search).

I know when I put my bird of paradise outside when it’s too humid it gets fussy and the leaves start to curl up which could be why yours are curling?
