# PLEASE HELP. I bought this spider plant and I knew it needed repotted…

_Publicado por leen el 2023-08-08_

PLEASE HELP. I bought this spider plant and I knew it needed repotted but what I didn’t know is that these roots are OUT OF CONTROL and there is a grow pot stuck inside! Does anybody have any advice? Should I try to get the grow pot out or leave it??

I’m now realizing the bigger pot I got, isn’t nearly big enough. Do you think I could try to split this thing? 😅

I don’t want to, I just don’t have a big enough pot, I don’t think. I’ll just repot it in the slightly larger pot now and look for an even bigger one, I guess 🥲

You can trim some of the roots down to fit it in the pot you want. It has so many, it may actually benefit the plant and stimulate new growth by doing so.

I was gonna say the same as this! I’ve seen videos of people just slicing the bottom couple of inches of roots off the plant so they can put it back in the same pot and it’ll have room to grow

Oh I didn’t know that was a possibility! I will do that, thanks!

was about to suggest this, spider plants are so hardy. my large one i trim the roots every few years to keep it in the same pot and it grows back better every time!!
