I’ve had my philodendron Birkin get terrible root rot before. Root rot in plants causes the leaves and stems to get mushy and brown and usually water will leak out from the leaves until the entire plant dies. The roots will look brown/orange too and will have a slight mildew smell to it. It’s best to take an unaffected cutting off your plant and propagate it to save your plant. Good luck!
