I love this orchid but I’m not sure what to do or if I did it right. I got some other advice to pull the plat out of the bark check and trim the roots and then plant it in new bark and trim the stem. This is what I did. There are b4 and after photos. I would like to know if I did it right and what I can do to keep this from getting worse or happening again. I will take as many tips as I can get. Please help. I took a lot of photos of the process so please click on them to see them all. Thankyou!

It looks like you did a great job! At least it’s everything I would have done 😁Wonderful documentation by the way. The only comments I can think of are:

1\. I would cut both inflorescences back to the plant. You want your phal to put all its energy towards root and leaf production.

2\. The pot appears to be pretty big for the amount of roots your plant has. I would pot it down into something smaller. An clear orchid pot with ventilation is great. If you don’t have one, you can convert any nursery pot by using a soldering iron to add ventilation holes.

3\. When you water, soak the pot for 10-15 minutes. You might consider using fertilizer each time you water at 1/4 strength. Flush the pot with pure water once a month to reduce salt buildup.
