# On my pearls of jade pathos, the leaves that are in the center of the…

On my pearls of jade pathos, the leaves that are in the center of the pot are white and green but as it grows out the leaves are green and a yellowish white. Is this related to lack of light and that is why the other leaves are yellow?

in my experience with variegated plants it often starts out more vibrant and colorful before hardening off to white or a light cream color. some plants will even have pink on the new growth if it’s bright enough

this is completely normal, and this is actually an Njoy pothos! pearls and jade has speckling that look like freckles, while Njoy is blocks of color.
