My snake plant has been losing a few leaves to this strange condition, it occurs about 3-6 inches above the base of the plant. Any ideas on what’s causing this? Thanks!

I’m not sure but it looks like something ate at it. Insects or little critter. Have you had the plant long?

I’ve had it for around 4 months, but I haven’t seen any signs of bugs 🤔

I have the same plant and mine all of a sudden have been getting soft spots on them and dying. A plant guy I follow said it’s a common disease in snake plants and to chop it.

Weird! This feels like it’s dried out, not getting soggy 🤔

But it might be a type of response that snake plants do to close off the effected area. Even if it doesn’t feel mushy maybe it found a way around soggy because it’s extra fibrous and kind of woody. With their shape mushy would be automatic death so they solved that this way. I’ve seen this in a lot of old snake plants. They used to be everywhere.
