# Can someone please tell me what these bugs are on my birds of…

Can someone please tell me what these bugs are on my birds of paradise they seem to be affecting the growth as one of the new leaves has come out slightly weird, I’ve tried neem oil and everything but they seem to just keep coming back

looks like mealy bugs to me. i’ve never dealt with these though, so i have no advice. but i will say if you’re bringing in new plants, constantly check them. they could be the source. and also quarantine this plant bc now it’s infected and could infect your others. good luck!

Thrips are black like these- mealy bugs are white and hairy looking. Not close enough to see the details though.
