# moved home from uni yesterday and in the chaos of the move my…

moved home from uni yesterday and in the chaos of the move my monstera has been damaged, this is either as a result of being stuck in a hot boot for a little while or i’m thinking this specific leaf has been trapped in the boot door as it’s the only one with a black spot, what do i do with it? i’ve been told i need to cut the whole leaf off, if so then where on the stem do i cut?  
any advice will be much appreciated :)

You need to cut the leaf off.

yes but where do i cut? that was the original question haha

You could just slice 1/2 the leaf off, on the left side of center vein. That way it still has 1/2 a leaf to photosynthesize with.

yeah this is what i was thinking and then just keep a close eye on it over the next week or so, just to see how it does and then chop the leaf off later if i need to, i repotted it today and everything looks fine root-wise, all healthy aside from the one scorched leaf :(

I will cut the whole thing at the base of the stem.
