Hi everyone.
I’m really new to this community, and plants in general.
I bought a Sansevieria a couple weeks ago, but I noticed it has a brown spot on one of the leaves, where you can see in the pictures. It was already like this, my bad for not checking it before buying🤦🏻‍♂️.
Anyways, does anybody know what is causing the brown spot? If so, do you have any advice on how to cure it? Should I cut that bit of the leaf off? Or do I just let time and the plant do their job?
Bare in mind that I only watered it once since I bought it, and I’m now waiting for the soil to completely dry out.
Thanks!!🍀🍀

You should cut that spot right out. Any brown spots mean that that part of the leaf is dead. It could be due to watering problems where you purchased it or from pests. Personally I would take that whole leaf off and propagate it. Snake plants are pretty easy to prop. Good luck 🍀

Hi, thank you so much for your help!!
So how exactly do I do that? Where do I do the cut in the leaf? Do I just take the brown spot off, or do I cut the leaf in half, throw away the part with the brown spot, and propagate the bottom part?

they meant if there was a mushy brown spot. this brown spot doesn’t mean anything, it’s just cosmetic like a scrape on your leg

Looks like damage from the store. Maybe it got bumped into or something. I personally would leave it alone. If it bothers you then I would cut as close to the mother plant as possible and attempt to propagate. Just put the end that you cut in water to cover just the bottom 25% of the leaf

It looks like a healthy leaf and like Lolo said, just damage from the store. The choice to cut it off or leave it would just be one aesthetics ☺️
