I have a smaller pothos and Chinese evergreen and they take a lot longer to dry out than when the app tells me to water is this normal? It takes about a week or so for them to dry out.

I find this to be true with a ton of my plants. I use Planta more as a guide to check individual plants to see if they are ready for water. If not, I snooze them. I have a lot of pothos and philodendron that like to dry out most of the way, so I let them.

Same here, I do a lot of skipping with the planta app. My Chinese Evergreen always feels moist. It needs a custom schedule.
