# I’ve just been given a poorly stingray plant that has been struggling…

_Posted by Courtney on 2023-06-15_

I’ve just been given a poorly stingray plant that has been struggling to push out any new leaves. I want to get him back to a happy and healthy state. I’ve tried moving him all about the place to try get him the right amount on sunlight but he just keeps turning more and more yellow. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated

Have you repotted it? Looks pretty low in the pot so maybe it’s not getting enough light? Are the roots healthy?

Maybe a smaller pot as well? This one might be too big

I think if you're going to keep in in a pot, it definitely needs to be smaller. Lots of plants like to have their roots swaddled like a little bebé. They don't like too much space when they are so little. Another thing which has worked for me is to lose the pot/soil altogether and place the plant into a glass of water. Let the plant rest for a bit and have its "spa day." The plant will typically start sending out new roots and then when you have a larger/stronger root base, repot it! Good luck!
