UPDATE:

Thank you guys so much for the tips!! She’s got a new stem and leaf coming in thanks to some new placement and misting for humidity!!

ORIGINAL POST:

Cathelea tips? I’ve had the one on the left for over a year now and she’s still so tiny. Leaves crisp up and fall off pretty frequently and I’m not sure why. She’s not in direct sunlight, but i have a large mirror right next to it, could that be a cause?

I’d like for her to get nice and big and healthy but I’m stumped on her growth right now. Seeing her new sibling next to her all lush and healthy at that size gives me hope. Thank you!!

I have had three for 8 months now and the magic combo seems to be: keep humidity around 65% consistently, do not let any direct sunlight touch it’s leaves (mine is about 2’ from a west window with other plants in front of it), and keep the soil consistently moist.

Yes, all of the above advice. I repotted mine in a special tropical soil blend and that seemed to help also.

They also like distilled water vs tap! That along with the humidity can help the edges

Yes from this picture it’s soil looks pretty dry, make sure it stays moist using distilled water! And humidity is very important to help those edges too.
