Can I suggest to go on YouTube and watch some care videos for this specific plant? That’s how I learned a LOT when I was starting out and avoided making some mistakes. And don’t feel bad if you kill some while learning! It happens to all of us!

That is the exact advice I was going to give. My same same experience. I looked up every single new plant i acquired on You Tube and just kept at it. A year later i now have 250+ beautiful plants. You Tube can teach SO much! The wealth of knowledge on plants in there is ENDLESS! 🤓🌿
Moonshine: your collection is beautiful!

Usually when the fronds get brown tips, it’s because of underwatering and not enough sunlight. These palms need 6-8 hrs of bright sunlight.

Also I remember my first plants that I got, I so wanted them to be happy but I didn’t know much back then. You’ll get there 😊

In case you’re spraying it with peppermint oil bc that’s what you heard, it’s actually a peppermint soap people use by Dr. Bronner’s Castile peppermint soap. You can also get a pre-mixed neem oil from most stores to use with it. Soap is to kill any insects, neem oil helps but mostly prevents. Palms are prone to spider mites which require a miticide to kill. But I think the issue here is a watering/lighting issue.

Also YouTube is your friend!!!

It’s not you, it’s the palm. Majesty palms are very tricky to grow indoor between the demanding light and humidity needs. To top that off, that makes them especially susceptible to pests which is probably what’s going on with yours. Spider mites. They’re almost impossible to see, you can use a flashlight to find tiny webs between the fronds. Gently rinse it as well as you can (hose, shower, wet cloth), spray with neem oil and/or abamectin (if you can find it) weekly to stave off new eggs hatching. Or just get a ZZ, snake plant, pothos, philodendron, monstera, Chinese evergreen, etc that are much easier and more satisfying to grow in my opinion!

The spots on it are pretty normal. My majesty palm has lots too. The tips are usually because of watering or humidity. Majesty palms are VERY picky with watering and humidity and will have brown tips if its not perfect so don’t threat and just cut them off. Looks to me that it might be overwatered. Could be the soil you have. I keep mine in a cactus palm soil and it seems to really enjoy it. Mist it regularly, give her some more sun, and pull back on the water a bit and you should be good. Hope this helps!
