Ponytail palm help!

I got my ponytail palm a few months ago and it’s been doing great! however, within the 2 weeks I started, noticing it the leaves are brown and squishy. There is also brown sap seeking out of its trunk. Am I over watering it? I’ve only watered in twice within the last 3-4 weeks. I put it outside to dry up a little but normally it’s inside.

Yes , looks like you have over watered it .. I let mine go for weeks until it’s completely dry !! May have to check the roots at this point .. hopefully someone with more experience will respond to..

Definitely overwatering! I would check for root rot before it gets worse!

Good move on putting it outside. It needs some brighter light to help combat being stewed inside fo-sho! And the air \& breeze will help dry it out a bit more. Careful not to blast it with full direct sun too quickly tho. It prefers dappled or morning sun only, but mostly indirect light. Too much sun without gradual acclimation can further stress and/or sunburn it.
