Has anyone ever overcome stem rot in an indoor begonia? Do you know of any antifungal treatments that could help, or is it a lost cause? How worried should I be about the disease spreading to other plants?

root and stem rot does not spread to other plants unless you put them in the contaminated soil, so that’s not really a concern. if it’s already in the stem, the plant won’t survive in the pot anymore. cut above the highest rotten point and look inside the stem to make sure you see no black or brown or yellow or abnormal squishyness, and then place in a clean glass of water and wait for roots.

Thanks for the info—I’ll give that a try!
