# Hey there, I’ve had this blue gecko colocasia for about two months…

Hey there, I’ve had this blue gecko colocasia for about two months now. It pushes out new growth like crazy but the leaves will eventually develop a sort of white speckling on them and eventually will yellow and wither away. It’s not powdery mildew since I can’t wipe it off at all. But I’m worried it’s another disease, does anyone have any idea why this could be? Is there any hope 🥲

Does it rub off? If so, it may just be calcium buildup from your tap water. If not, I’m not sure if I can help you on that, except for an educated guess, that it isn’t getting enough light.

Unfortunately it doesn’t rub off 🥲, I’m thinking it’s some sort of disease but can’t figure it out. Thank you anyways!

I have it right in front of a south facing window but I think you might be right. This certain colocasia is supposed to be almost black in color.
