Hi! I’m new to owning a Monstera so does anyone know why some of my leaves are turning yellow and then dying out? I only water every 2 weeks (per what I have been told) could it just be normal?

I’m still kinda new to Monsteras as well but for me if I notice yellow leaves it could be over watering or I think in your plants case maybe under watering? To my understanding Monsteras are tropical plants and need humidity, bright indirect light so it doesn’t burn and water to where the soil doesn’t dry out too much between waterings. Try watering once a week-week 1/2 and see if it helps!

Looks like overwatering. Soil should dry out in between watering. Stick your finger into the top 1-2 inches of soil and if soil sticks to your finger, wait to water. It’s possible to water every two weeks and still over water. You can mist the leaves in between.

Regardless of what you might be told, it’s always best to not water on a schedule. My monstera is growing like a weed and I water whenever the top 2-3” of soil is dry. I use my finger but you can also use a regular old chopstick. Might also need a little more light. Mine is a foot away from a west-facing window and gets a good amount of light all day.
