Hi everyone. I tend to overwater my plants a lot and I was just wondering what I can do to help my plants thrive again. Currently, my Swiss cheese vine, golden pothos, and calathea have yellow leaves but I want to help them out! I have tried spacing out my watering but it hasn’t seemed to help yet.
Side note- When the leaves have fully gone
yellow, I cut off.

I am not sure if these plants are overwatered but that is what I have come to because of the yellow leaves.

I usually water my pothos once the soil is completely dry so maybe try that method before watering it again. And I also most the leaves and set it in the sunlight during the day if it’s not getting enough

Thanks. Most people online have told me to water when it is slightly moist, which is probably why I overwatered it. I will definitely be testing this out!

Hi, I water my monstera every 7-8 days only. Wait for the soil to dry a bit between waterings. With the size of your monstera, only use 1-1 1/2 cups of water. Dip your finger an inch or two. If it’s still moist, skip watering. When the leaves turn yellow or brown, cut it.

Thank you. I haven’t really heard anyone say an exact amount of water to use so this is helpful!

Soil change and/or postpone their next watering for a while.

Definitely make sure the pots have drainage. Never a bad idea to repot with a fresh airy soul mixture. Give the root rooted roots a haircut at this time as well. You can drench the soil when watering, just allow soil to dry more. You can aerate the soil in between waterings to get it dry out quicker as well

I appreciate your input! I will try aerating again since I don’t really use that technique often as well as giving the roots a few cuts and giving them new soil.

I have used the technique of sticking my finger in the soil to see if it is dry enough. I was never really sure about it. Now I am using a wood skewer. If there is soil on the skewer it is not dry enough. My plant is doing really week now
