# My poor ficus elastica is dropping leaves like crazy. I assessed for…

My poor ficus elastica is dropping leaves like crazy. I assessed for water-log/root rot and both checked out. She’s pushing out a new leaf but I’ve never lost 3 substantial leaves like this due to new growth.  
Any thoughts?

I had the same issue with a fiddle leaf fig. It dropped mostly from the bottom. The Planta doctor said it’s probably prepping for new growth up top, and sure enough it’s sprouting like crazy a month later! Fingers crossed your result is the same!
