I have an Audrey Ficus 8ft potted tree and recently the leaves have been turning yellow and black and falling. Others are starting to get yellow dots and I’m afraid my tree is going downhill. Can anyone help? We water once a week. I love our tree. Please help!

Mine (nearly 4 ft) did this and I ultimately found mushrooms growing from the drainage holes. My guess (emphasis on guess) is drainage issue. The plant rebounded after letting the soil dry and using more caution when watering. That’s a big boy though but if you can add extra drainage holes that may help. The yellow and black leaves will not likely recover so I just remove them and watched the issue stop.

Yes, either a drainage issue, or a overwatering issue. They are ultimately the same thing.
