# Hey everyone! Im new to gardening and I have some questions about…

Hey everyone! Im new to gardening and I have some questions about Neem oil. I recently bought a citrus tree and I have noticed fine webbing on the branches. I’m not 100% sure if it’s spider mites but I want to treat it with Neem oil just in case. How many times should it be applied to my plants and can it be applied directly to the soil?

I think the active substances in the oil only are partially absorbed by the roots, and that it’s best to apply it to the foliage directly when treating. I don’t know the recommendations for using it on edible plants? If it’s horticultural grade it should come with instructions hopefully
