# Originally had this monstera deliciosa cutting in water and it…

Originally had this monstera deliciosa cutting in water and it thrived and sprouted a new leaf. Got too heavy and would tip over so I put leca in the vase and filled it with water above the roots.

But now the roots are looking a little black. Is this from root rot or just discoloration?
