# does anyone know what these are? idk if they are insect eggs or some…

_Posted by harper on 2025-06-18_

does anyone know what these are? idk if they are insect eggs or some sort of fungi, but i haven't noticed any bugs around my plant. they're covering my plant's dead stems, cream-yellowish in color, and are teeny tiny. if anyone can identify what it is, any help on treating the problem is greatly appreciated! thank you in advance!

more info- it's a peperomia rotundifolia, or "trailing jade". i keep it indoors and have had it forever, and it is quite resilient- it dies if i'm away but pops right back up with some love, hence the dead foliage and stems underneath the healthy leaves.

Probably some type of fungus if I had to guess

Hmm... i have never seen that. Sorry i can't help you but i would hurry and take that plant outside incase it is eggs of some pest. Let nature take care of it or change the soil, wash the plant with neem oil or buy some insecticide srray

That's either a slime mold or flowerpot parasol. If it stays tiny and white, it's probably the mold. If it gets bigger, turns more yellow, gets sort of a fluffy look between the dots, and eventually sprouts a yellow mushroom, it's the parasol. Flowerpot parasol is totally harmless to the plant, but can indicate overwatering if you see the mushrooms often. I have no idea if slime molds are bad for plants or not
