# I have had an infestation of fungus gnats in my collection, but none…

I have had an infestation of fungus gnats in my collection, but none of my other plants have acted this way to it. Is there anything else that could be wrong? What do I do? Right now I have it placed in my window to get it more light but it doesn’t seem to be helping.

Oh man I had a terrible fungus gnat infestation this year, buying mosquito dunks (tearing them into smaller chunks and putting it on the surface of the soil) really helped get rid of them!

For plant recovery in the meantime, fungus gnats trap in moisture and like the name implies create root rot and mould to grow in your soil. I had to water less frequently and make sure the soil super dried out, then water my plants with fertilizer to give them back some good juice to grow again 💚 hope this helps and hope all the gnats die!

Propagate the last piece of vine before it all dies.

this looks like it was overwatered - the huge pot and brown leaves and stems makes me think that the plant was too small for its home. because of this, it couldnt use all the water in the soil, which left it to rot.
this would also explain the fungus gnats, as they love the moist soils high in organic components like peat moss.

for future reference, pot size should only be 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball, and make sure to give a nice well draining soil with things like perlite, coco coir, vermiculite, pumice, or orchid bark :)
