Found these 2 hornworms on my cherry tomato. They ate an entire set of leaves and half of a cherry tomato😂. Kinda cool to see them even though they are pests. I removed them from my garden, anything else I should be worried about with them?

just know there are probably more so keep your eyes peeled! it’s wild how big they get and how easy they can be to miss!

Yep! Agreed! To add to that, a batch of eggs was laid at once so could potentially be several of them. We call them sumo wrestlers because they are so chunky and strong! They can eat a lot and more the bigger they get. I would spray off your plant with water to remove any poop and then keep an eye out for new poop and new damage. The bigger they get, their poop gets bigger too. It becomes obvious to see. I always look above the larger poop to find them. The poop can get at least 4 times the size of a dwarf hamster’s poop, if that helps.😅

Oh my gosh it blended in 🙈🙈🙈 I think it’s kind of cute tbh

They blend in perfectly! They are the exact same color as the tomato stems. What really gets me every time is looking so closely all over the plant for one and then realizing another one been a couple inches from my face the whole time.🤪

Oh my gosh! 🙈 I think something has been chomping on some of my plants (avocado) but idk what because I never find any worms or snails and my balcony is screened.

You can search for them at night with a black light 👀🐛

Ohhh that’s a cool tip 😎 also, I feel like you could make that a really fun party game 🤔 🎈 🪩 🐛 🎉

I always challenge my kids to find them if I see evidence of them but can’t find them. Whoever finds it first gets $1. That motivated them more when they were younger.😄 A 16 year old has better things to do than look for a tomato hornworm for a dollar.😄 But he will pull it off for me if we find it. Those guys are strong and I hate the way they feel when you are pulling hard to get them off.😅
