# Can anyone help me same my flaming Katy? The app said she needed more…

Can anyone help me same my flaming Katy? The app said she needed more water but I follow the water schedule from the app and she was thriving at old place (we moved 2 weeks ago). She got a bumped on the transfer and lost some leaves but then her flowers started losing color and browning/drying. I’m at a loss and don’t wanna lose her if possible!

Update: I just found mold and a little white bug on one of her under leaves!!!! HELP!

She looks to be in much too large of a pot. The pot should only be 1-2 inches larger than the root ball. Use planta as a reminder to check the soil moisture to determine if it needs to be watered, snoozing as necessary. Using a bamboo skewer is great to check the soil moisture. Check it like you check if brownies are cooked after leaving in soil for a minute. The soil looks like it might be too dense too. I’d add more perlite at minimum.

Remove any dead material from the soil surface like dropped leaves to avoid more mould growth, and I agree that a smaller pot might be best for the plant if possible.

Thank you very much! It was growing like crazy so I put it in a larger pot thinking it would grow even more 🥴.

Here’s what I’ve done to try and save her—trimmed the dead leaves and the one rotting branch new soil and a smaller pot. Prayers for Katheryn! And thank you guys!
