Can anyone help me with my Meyer Lemon? It is in a SE location. I’m in Southern Arizona, nights have gotten down to 37 and days are 60-75. I don’t know if I should bring it inside? I’ve been following Planta as far as watering and fertilizing.

You shouldn’t be completely following plants watering schedule, it’s notorious for overwatering your plant.

Yes I’ve just been reading others posts about their Meyer Lemons. Thanks!

They're usually hardy down into low 30s-high 20s. What kind of fertilizer are you using? Is it citrus tree specific with a bit higher nitrogen. You may need to supplement magnesium too. I have to for my finger lime

Oh wow! I didn't know it's different! I've put in my list to get some citrus fertilizer..

Thank you. I do have some citrus fertilizer for my orange and grapefruit trees. I will try that on my lemon.

We have one large one in RI, and bring it inside when the night temps are starting to be below 50 (even in the 40s). The tree may survive outside below that, but being deciduous it will start to yellow and drop leaves. When we overwinter it inside in a sunny window, it will still drop quite a few leaves, but enough stay that it isn’t naked.

Once the weather warms up in the spring, we return it to the deck outside where it REALLY thrives. These trees are also thirsty, so long as you have holes and don’t wildly overdo it.

We currently have 9 lemons on it that are starting to ripen, and many tiny ones that are just forming!

Thank you! That’s very helpful. I’ve left mine out when it’s been in the 30s I will bring it in now. Hopefully it will recover.

Put it in a warm, sunny window. It should put out new leaves and flowers over the winter. You can even hand pollinate the flowers and get a head start on some new lemons!

This was ours last winter just after bringing it inside. You can see that it’s dropping some leaves, but it kept most of the green ones!
