# Monstera question! I got a small monstera plant that had been living…

_Geplaatst door Lynnie op 2024-08-10_

Monstera question! I got a small monstera plant that had been living in pure water for the last 6 months. I put it in a pot with dirt (no drainage but has rocks) and got something to hold the stems up and it has been doing well for the last week or so ive had it. But now its starting to droop and im concerned. How often should i be watering? Its getting bright indirect sunlight

I wouldn’t keep it in a pot with no drainage. It makes it very difficult to not overwater. Rocks are not a drainage substitute the soil will still be wet. It could be drooping due to too much water.

Agree with Dani. Could also be that you went from 6 months of water roots into dirt. Monstera roots need oxygen. I suspect the soil is too dense and overwatered

Pictures of the plant and soil media would help answer this question

Agree with the above. Repot into a nursery pot with drainage (no rocks inside) and you can keep the outer decorative pot.
