# So lately I’ve been looking at my Syngonium, and I’ve noticed that…

So lately I’ve been looking at my Syngonium, and I’ve noticed that some leaves look chewed.  
I have a cat, and occasionally he goes near my plants, but I make sure he doesn’t damage them and he never does.

Any idea what’s going on?

chewed on by your cat. just make sure Your Cat isnt throwing up because those can be dangerous for animals! Ik you said you watch him but You never know. My cat Used to Chew on my plants (he completely stopped now) but he will occasionally Play/Chew them If its a new plant. I always Show dima (my cats name lol) the new plant i bring home and let him smell it and to see if he will Try chewing on it or not if he doesn’t i will put it anywhere if he Does Go to Chew/play with it i put it where he cant reach it!

It’s a bit confusing bc as soon as he jumps into my window (where this plant is) I immediately pick him up and get him off of it. I close my door when I’m not in the room.  
And it seems like it’s happening overnight (in which time I close my door and make sure he isn’t in my room) so that’s why I was confused.

It could also be damage from unfurling if it's a new leaf but my cats can get into my bedroom if the door is not fully latched-even if it's closed. My truck is to push on the door without touching the handle and see if it opens, if it doesn't the cats can't get in.

The jagged edge looks like it’s chewed. I would suspect the cat if you found no pests like grasshoppers or caterpillars and found no droppings.

Defo chewed on, there’s a good amount of bruising going on as well, from where it’s gnawing on the leaf
