What kind of bug is this? They don’t move. I only find them on the stem of a plant. I squish them and then spray the plant with a diluted water mixture with neem oil but they keep appearing. I’ve also tried using rubbing alcohol but it doesn’t get rid of them.

How do I get rid of the little suckers 🤬

I would go apocalyptic on them. Remove from the pot, get rid of as much soil as possible (was the roots if they are hardy enough) and then spray the plants and the roots with Azamax. Then repot with new soil and add a granule based pesticide to the soil. Continue the Azamax spray on the leaves for a few days afterwards.

It’s not gentle or organic but, this is war 😈

I’m in Canada…not sure I can get systemic granules or Azamax here. 😞

Seriously we have it rough up here.

I’m too and safer’s end all works well for mealy bugs, you simply have to treat it every two days or so for two weeks

Picked up some Safer’s End All today and gave all my fronds a bath in it 🤭😈 Thank you for all the tips!

I don’t recommend systemic granules — it’s toxic and I like to get my hands in the soil. But definitely soak all the soil from the roots, get fresh soil, rinse the whole plant really thoroughly and spot treat until you stop seeing them

I’ve heard you can use dawn dish soap to wash them off the leaves when you move into new soil ! Also putting 70% rubbing alcohol on the ones you can see kills them immediately
